Welcome to the C G Jung Society of South Australia Based in Adelaide, the C G Jung Society of South Australia provides a meeting place, drawing from the psychology of Carl Jung, where the deep, creative life of the individual can find support within a like-minded community through monthly talks, workshops and access to our wonderful library. The high quality monthly talks and workshops are given by speakers wishing to share their insights into Jung's transformative psychology drawn from their therapeutic practice and / or academic research pursuits. The life-long journey of coming fully into being was for Jung a many faceted process where ultimately one encounters and finds relationship to the numinous powers within. As we first turn inside, we encounter images, through dreams or fantasies, that are neither willed nor directed, but which arise in us unbidden. Their experience is the means to an unfolding creative journey that, over the ages, has formed a vast historic reservoir of mythic, religious and creative material that marks the depths of humanity. It was Jung's genius to open a door for conscious engagement with these images - be it directly within ourselves or indirectly with the accrued historic reservoir. Accordingly his psychology can act as a compensation to a scientific age that has weakened the individuals religious connection with the core of their being; a compensation that if followed by each in their own way, leads to an experience of wholeness and the realization of ourselves as nature intended - the acorn we came into this world as, becomes the oak. The central image for this website is from a carving made by Jung into the base of the outer stone wall of his house at Bollingen. It is a carving of the God Mercurius, who rules over the creative process within. Dr Robert Matthews President to email click here |
